JUST-US: The End of the Polite Hero
The era of "Sorry, eh?" is over.
For generations, Canadians have been famous for it. We say it when entering a room, starting a conversation, or simply existing in a space. It was our social disarmament tactic—a way to stay safe, neutral, and quietly in the background. We were the "Polite Heroes" who apologized for the crime of taking up space.
To the outside world, we are still sold as a Canadian Utopia. But the pandemic changed the math.
For the first time, we didn't just feel governed—we felt ruled. Restrictions and regulations created a paralyzing dependency on authority, and that grip hasn't loosened. It’s been normalized.
But neutrality is not consent.
We are living through a deliberate era of confusion. Global distractions and domestic noise are being used to keep us divided while the rules and laws we live by are altered without notice or permission. They expect us to stay in the background and just "take it."
It’s time for a refresher on why Canadian justice was once a global benchmark. It wasn’t because of faceless institutions; it was because of the people. JUST-US.
I didn’t sign up to be a pushover. We are a massive community with a thousand voices, and it’s time we started using them. It’s time to stop apologizing for standing our ground.
"Sorry, eh?" — I’m done with that.
FUCK OFF. This is me "politely" taking up space. This is me refusing to disappear quietly.
